Our beloved father, Obie Clayton "Pappaw" Weaver , "took his Heavenly flight" on February 7th, 2015, in Shreveport, La at the age of 82. Clayton was born on January 16, 1933 in Chestnut, La. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. From the day they met, he and his wife were inseparable. They faithfully served their church, Baptist Tabernacle, for over 50 years in administration and many ministries. Giving of himself to serve the Lord, his family, and his friends was his greatest passion. He was a very active member of the Joy club where he enjoyed fellowship with other senior adults. Clayton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda Weaver. Survivors include: children, Danny Weaver and wife Judy, Kaye Pharr and husband Kenny, Lori Winderweedle and husband Bryan, Terri Escude', Becky Martin and husband Eric; 13 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 2 on the way, 14 nieces/nephews; siblings, Luda Trichel and husband R.D., Emogene Emerson, and their dearest friends Luke and Becky Bissell. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mike Pharr, Adam Weaver, Bobby Stone, Matt Pharr, Marcus Pharr, Clay Martin, Lance Roberts, Bryan Briggs, Nick Bailey, Chris Kracman and Paul Hartman. Honorary pallbearers will be a group of Shreveport Firefighters that are very dear to the family. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Baptist Tabernacle, 8501 East Kingston Road, Shreveport, La. Service will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Baptist Tabernacle. Graveside service will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clarke Road, Keithville, LA, gates open promptly at 2:00 p.m. and close promptly at 2:30 p.m. Boone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Our family sends our heartfelt thanks to extended family at Baptist Tabernacle, the Trauma Staff at University Health, Shreveport Firefighters and Paramedics, and the staff of Life Care Facilities. The family would also like to ask in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Baptist Tabernacle J. G. Tharpe Family Life Center Building Fund. Those of you who knew our dad, Bro. Tharpe was his lifelong Pastor and friend. What better way to honor our dad and your friend than giving to this fund because through this their legacy will continue and change many lives.
