Mike Horton

Michael Lorraine Horton, 50, was born in Hays, Kansas,September 18, 1958 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ January 15, 2009 following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held at Tuesday January 20, 2009, 10:30 AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church,Panola, Texas. The family will receive friends at Louisiana Funeral Care, 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Monday, January 19, 2008 between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Mike was preceded in death by his father Linn Horton of Panola, Texas. He is survived by his wife Laurie Robertson Horton, the Love of his life. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Little of Camdenton, Missouri, six brothers Kenneth and wife Sharlene, Craig and wife Anna, Kevin and wife Linda, Garrett, David and Roy and wife Shelia; six sisters Barbara, Marla, Billie and husband Jay, Crystal and husband Dennis, Patti Joe and Kelly. Mike leaves behind a son Michael Horton and a daughter Michelle Billips and husband Brett, and four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Gracie, Cadee and Garrett. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mike enjoyed gardening with his wife, and watching both college and professional football. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior 12 years ago and was very involved with different organizations such as The Highland Club, Shreveport Rescue Mission, and AA. He was always a straight shooter, telling his father to ?Warm a spot for me in Heaven, I?ll see you there?. Some of his favorite sayings were ?You better get right?, and ?You better get right with the Lord",and "I better ask my baby" (Referring to his wife). He loved his wife, family, children, grandchildren and the Lord with all his heart. Mike also loved his extended family that he worked with so dearly. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Pallbearers are nephews Joseph Linn Horton, Royce Lee Thomson, son Michael Horton, Keith Doyal and Michael Whitehead.
