Melvia Horne

Melvia Gene Horne of Haughton, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born on January 21, 1934.

Melvia Gene Horne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ernest Horne and sons, Jeffery “Jay” Todd Horne and Randale “Randy” Scott Horne.

She is survived by her son, Robert Russell Horne, and grandchildren, Ethan Thomas Horne, Haley Wren Horne, Adam Horne and wife Crystal Horne, Christopher Horne and wife Cherie Horne, Patrick Lynn Prine and wife Chelsea Prine, Erica Virgina Fuentes and husband Chris Fuentes, Dylan Todd Horne, Victoria Jean-Marie Horne, and many great grandchildren and extended family. 

Melvia, lovingly referred to as Meemaw, spent most of her time taking care of her family along with many wonderful years spreading love, joy, and sass to those around her. She enjoyed passing time playing games like dominoes and solitaire. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Manor West and Lifepath Hospice. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Elm Grove Baptist Church, 8180 Barksdale Blvd, Bossier City, LA 71112.
