Haughton-Funeral services for Mel will be 1:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier. Interment will follow in Doyline Cemetery, Doyline, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Jay Valentine. The family will receive friends between 5:00 PM -7:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier. Mel loved every minute of her short life. She loved waking up every morning and drinking her first cup of coffee, smoking a cigarette, browsing Facebook on her front porch, surround by her Dachshunds. She planned her days around working with Rem, riding her Razor, cooking for her crowd on Sunday afternoons. The more that came, the happier she was, and the bigger the pot of stew. Cleaning day was every day, and she moved everything to clean. Never sit down without looking. One of her prize possession was her blue tooth jawbone, one never knew if she was talking on her phone or to you. Mel was preceded in death by grandparents, Lillie and Drew Brunson, Rose and Lloyd Spradling; uncle, Conrad Spradling; and cousin, Randall Brunson. Celebrating her life are fiance', Rem Budd; parents, Clara and Jerry Reich; children, Tristan Boatner, Garrett Boatner, Katee Harris and husband Derrick; grandchild, Dawson Harris; sisters, Jennifer Rose and husband Trey; brother, Jerry Reich and wife Patty, and Jay Emory; uncle, Johnnie Brunson and wife Tammy, Randy Spradling and wife Lenda; Aunt, May McNeil, nephew, Vince Bartilini and wife Haley; cousin, Jonathan Brunson and wife Tamara; and many more family and friends that loved her. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Pilkinton, Jay Emory, Dwight Boatner, Dustin Hayes, Cecil Hayes, and Vince Bartilini. She is smiling and saying, don't cry for me, but laugh and think of me with your first Saturday morning cup of coffee.
