Mavis Louise “Lou” Ferriter, 86, went on to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born March 27, 1936 in Biloxi, MS to Anthony Stojcich and Mary Edna Fowler Stojcich.
Lou met and married James “Jimmy” Ferriter when he was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi. They wed August 9, 1952 having six daughters, Patti Carstensen, Terri Chaffin (Ken), Sheila Morris (Jim), Vicki Mauer, Toni Vessel (Dennis) and Debbie Jamar (Randy). She leaves behind many grand children and even more great-grand children.
Lou loved to read, drink coffee and sit and talk with people for hours. She had a great sense of humor and could make you laugh with ease. Remembering her laughter will always put a smile on our faces and in our hearts. She loved music and she and her husband often danced never missing a step or twirl. She was a strong woman who couldn’t help but shed tears during every hymn she heard. She loved Jesus and through any bad time always kept her faith. Her loss will be felt deeply by those who knew her and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Anthony and Edna Stojcich, her husband, Jim Ferriter, 2 sisters, Doris Cowart and June Mladinich, brother, Charles Stojcich, daughter, Terri Chaffin, grand son Kenny Chaffin.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”
The family will have a private celebration of Lou’s life December 29, 2022.”
