Mary Dowden

Shreveport, LA ? Mary L. Dowden, 93, left this Earth for her heavenly home on August 14, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Dowden, and seven siblings. Mrs. Dowden is loved and honored by daughters Robbi Dowden, Sally Dowden, and Diane Michels. She leaves behind grandchildren, Jason Brunn, Jennifer Thompson, Peyton Boozer, Sierra Payne and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dowden is also survived by sisters Dolly Milich and Dorothy Kostron. She was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Womens? Army Air Corp. Mrs. Dowden was a retired employee of the El Chico Corp. The family appreciates the care given her by the VA Hospital and the Northwest LA War Veterans? Home. Visitation will be Friday, August 19th, from 5-7 pm at Boone Funeral Home on Meriwether Road. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 20th at 10:30 am at Centuries Memorial Park.
