Mary was born in Shreveport on 01/06/58. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Mary spent most of her life caring for others. She had an extraordinary talent for creating art.
For several years “Donk” worked as a Nurse’s Assistant caring for the elderly and disabled until an injury caused her disability, thus she was unable to continue working. Her favorite color was blue. She was beautiful inside and out. This truly is a celebration because she is finally free.
Mary is survived by her children: April (Jimmy) White and Rex Appacrombie, Jr.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grand daughter; her sisters: Lisa (Greg) Welch and Lora Smith; nieces & nephews, and other family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by Alex "Lil Roy" Smith, Jr. (brother), Demarcus Smith (nephew), Ida & Alex Smith (parents), Rex Appacrombie (husband), and Willie Smith (brother).
