Lucy “Marilyn” Bamburg, age 74, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away and in to her Savior’s arms on Wednesday, December 15, with loved ones by her side. Marilyn was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, on August 28, 1947, to Monterie and Ola Mae Snoddy, who preceded her in death.
Marilyn worked in the Bossier Parish School System for several years before retiring in 2011. She loved Jesus, her family, her two cats, decorating, gardening and giving. And she was wonderful at all of it. Her famous quote was “You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving.”
She is survived by her brother, Robert Snoddy and wife Maxine of Turkey Creek, Louisiana; daughter Holly Elizabeth Bamburg of Dallas, Texas; son Gary Christopher Bamburg of Bismarck, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of longtime friends. She is also survived by her cats Apollo and Shiloh.
Marilyn will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, December23, at 10:00, with visitation at 9:30, at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.
