Lora Manuel Bryant was born August 10. 1940 to the late Beatrice Henderson and Charlie Manuel and passed October 14, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Her family was by her side when God called her home. A Celebration of Life Service for Lora will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Uelyss Reed, Jr.
Lora was a loving wife, mother, aunt, friend, and most of all Christian. Early in life, Lora was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Later in life she moved her membership to Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church and faithfully attended services until her health failed. She worked at Caddo Door for over ten years and Johnny Gray Jones Detention Center as a security officer. To many she was more than a security officer but also someone to talk with. She was a loving wife and mother of two sons.
Lora was preceded in death by her siblings Bertha Shaw, Helen Morris, and Rosalie Thomas. Lora leaves behind husband, Robert Bryant of Bossier City, LA; children, Charles Manuel and wife Gwen of Kenner, LA, and Domingo Manuel and wife Millen of Bossier City, LA; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; life-long friends Elouise Wilson and Mae L. Bryant of California; a devoted niece, Jo Davis and husband Clyde; and play daughter, Sue Manning.
