Linda Lee Rhodes

    Linda Lee Rhodes, beloved wife of Benny Rhodes, took her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven on Monday, February 1, 2021.  Linda was born on April 15, 1947 to Dallas S. and Carolyn Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents Steve and Mae Lee, and maternal grandparents Richard and Agnes Lee. She is survived by her husband of more than fifty years, Benny Ray Rhodes, her sister Sandra Lee Hayward and son Spencer Lee, and her brother Larry Lee.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

      Linda taught at West Shreveport Elementary, T.L. Rhodes/Platt Elementary in Haughton, Dubberly Elementary, and Shreve Island Elementary in Shreveport.  After retiring from teaching, she worked in the Preschool Ministry of Broadmoor Baptist Church.  She volunteered many years for the Operation Christmas Child Ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. She taught adult Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Bossier City, and led several Bible Studies in her home. She and Benny, along with dear friends David and Susan Carnline, loved their ministry as the Southern Gospel group One Accord.  Her faith in Jesus Christ was evident in her life and in her love for her family, her church, and for people.  She truly had a servant’s heart.  We take great joy in knowing we will be with her again, in glory.

      A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 4, at 10:30 AM at Airline Baptist Church in Bossier City.  Linda has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 4196 Monroe, LA 71211, or to Clara Springs Youth Encampment, 4420 Hwy 177 in Pelican, Louisiana 71063.
