Lela Mae Parker, 59, passed away on October 4, 2024 after a brief illness. Lela Mae was born May 14, 1965 in Port Sulphur, Louisiana.
Lela Mae was a woman who led a very unique life. She lived life on her terms, soaking up as much joy as she could, and staying young for as long as she could. A free spirit, Lela Mae traveled often, moving from place to place throughout her life. Her feet never seemed to want to stop moving, even when she went to sleep. She was always quick to lend a hand and give to those around her. Celebrating with family and friends, whether for the holidays or a simple back yard cookout, Lela Mae enjoyed it all. Her children were her pride and joy. She bragged often to anyone who would listen about her babies, and then her grand babies (even the furry ones). She always gushed that her children were the best parts of her.
Lela Mae was predeceased by her father, Bill Mack Mitchell, and her mother Ora Mae Mitchell; her sisters Shelia Stewart and Gaylene DiRosa, and her brother Craig Fitzgerald; and her husband Ricky Parker. She is survived by her children, Charles Richard Humphrey and partner Jana, Virginia Parker and partner Michael, Skylar Parker and partner James, and Kaspian Parker; her grandchildren Charles Radley Humphrey, Sylis Lingruen, and Gabreil Cooper; her brothers David Fitzgerald and Preston Mack Mitchell, and several other family members and friends left to cherish her memory.
