In loving memory of Kham K. Norman, affectionately known as "Mama Kham," who gracefully earned her wings on July 18, 2024. Mama Kham was a pillar of strength and a source of boundless love for her family and community.
Born in Udorn, Thailand, Mama Kham embarked on a journey that spanned continents, settling in the United States in 1973. Her life was marked by diligence and charisma, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mama Kham's devotion to her family was unparalleled. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 50 years, USAF Ret. Msgt. Reginald Norman, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Her legacy continues through her three grown daughters, Ladda Love Hawkins, Precious Joy Norman-Walton and Faith Ann Norman, whose lives she shaped with humility and wisdom. Mama Kham's seven grandchildren: Trevon James Norman, Christopher Robinson, Brandon L. Cotton, Charles W. Robinson, Honor G. Lozano, Micheal L. Hawkins and Aaden B. Walton cherished their childhood with her presence and will miss her greatly. An honorable mention to her son in law, Aaron B. Walton, for his support in her final days.
Beyond her family, Mama Kham touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Always ready to prepare a special dish with love and laughter, Mama Kham was passionate about her career as a military and casino food service worker winning distinguished awards along the span of 23 years.
In her spare moments, Mama Kham found solace in gardening. Her green thumb and nurturing nature mirrored her approach to life – fostering care and growth.
Mama Kham's journey may have come to an end, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and compassion that will continue to inspire generations to come.
A memorial is planned for Sunday July 28th at 2pm at The Carpenter House - 8959 E Kings Hwy Shreveport, LA 71115. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org).
As we bid farewell to Mama Kham, let us celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
