Memorial Services for Karen S. Peninger will be held 4:00, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 9449 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, LA.
Karen, 48, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne Boxleitner.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Clay Peninger; step-daughter, Heather Peninger; brothers, Norman Boxleitner and wife Karen, Jim Boxleitner and wife Denise, Mike Boxleitner and wife Julie, Gene Boxleitner and wife Connie; sister, JoAnn Nichols, numerous nieces and nephews. She was ?Oma? to her three grandchildren, McKenzie, Zach and Marc.
Karen was a creative and talented artist. In her spare time, she loved to cook and use her talents in her garden. She was an active member of the Bayou Chapter of the Ozark Society since 1997 where she made special friends that shared her love of the outdoors. She was also an active member of the Ladies of the Lake Club. She was known for her kind, nurturing spirit and her sweet smile, and will be remembered by her loved ones through the traditions she created.
