Judith Marie Cheney

Judith Marie Fisher Cheney of Bossier City, LA. went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 25, 2015 at her residence in Bossier City, LA after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at Boones Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA from 5 -7 p.m. Thursday 27, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 1p.m. August 28, 2015 at Boones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Bradley, AR. Judy was born in Hoyt, Kansas to James Raymond Fisher and Maude Mae Jeffries Fisher, on September 7, 1934. Judy married the love of her life, William Gerald Cheney on December 31, 1954. She devoted her life to be a Godly example to all of us. As she wrote in her Bible, her life's desire was "to be a coworker with my husband and a good pastors wife always with constructive criticism, Godly life-faithful in ministering in things of the Lord, sharing my husband's hours of happiness, his hours of sorrow with friendly fellowship. To know him as he is and yet love him, as a gratitude to God, for giving him to me, and to help him know his labor is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:58." After serving unwaveringly in the ministry alongside her husband she fulfilled all of these desires and more. She left her family a legacy and testimony of a good and faithful servant. Judy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, Reverend William Gerald Cheney. She is survived by her four children: Gerald Marc Cheney and wife Debbie of Winchester, VA, William Steven Cheney and wife Diane of Zanesville, OH, Jonathan Glen Cheney and wife Michelle of Bossier City, LA and Shelley Marie Cheney Camp and husband Randy of Stamps, AR. Siblings Lois Schepis of Pueblo West CO, Ted Fisher and Joyce McKenzie of Sapulpa, OK. Judy was a beloved Maw Maw to Jeremy Cheney and wife Laura, Josh Cheney and wife Christine, Lauren Mitchell and husband Matt , Mandy Hambrice and husband Jeremy, Jodi Waters and husband Brent, Garrett Camp and wife Andria, and Savannah Cheney. As well as Great Maw to Connor Waters, Graham Cheney, Paisley Hambrice, Caroline Cheney, Myli Hambrice, Paige Cheney, Brynlee Camp, Sarah Kate Cheney, Hayden Mitchell, and Brooke Cheney. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to missions or your church to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The family wishes to extend gratitude to all the people who cared for her and about her. Special thanks to Dr. Balogh, Dr. San Pedro, Dr. Feagin, and Hospice of Shreveport/ Bossier. Also a great deal of thanks goes to all her family and extended family who helped with her care.
