Bossier City, LA- A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Melancon, age 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 425 McCormick St. Bossier City, LA. Celebrating the Mass will be Father Glorioso. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Monday night at 6:00 p.m. at the church, with a visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Melancon passed away Aug.9 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Helena, AR. She was a devoted member of Christ The King Catholic Church and Ladies Auxiliary of the Johnny Welch V.F.W Post 5951.
Proceeding her in death were her son, Hayward Joseph Melancon, Jr. and husband, Hayward Joseph Melancon, Sr. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Melancon Brasher, three sons; Richard, Kenneth and wife Linda, Michael and wife Linda, eight grandchildren; Crystal, Leslie, Heather, Mallory, Katie, Brandon, Hannah and Daniel, step granddaughters; Lindsey and Sarah, great grandsons; Devon and Logan. She is also survived by two sisters; Tina, and Helene Welch, and sister-in-law Wanda Welch.
Pallbearers will be Mike Landry, Brandon Melancon, Alan McAvoy, Clay Hicks, Joe Jisa, David Bruce, Bill Downing, and Ernest Palmisano, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers Kim Breaux, Dr. Charles Powers, Abbie Reliford, Mary Morgan, Jane Fish, and Vernel Williams.
