John Steven Raska

BOSSIER CITY — John Steven Raska was born February 17, 1952 in Ruston, Louisiana and passed away unexpectedly May 9, 2016 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by wife, Nora Jeanne Sosbee Raska; father, John Paul Raska; mother and stepfather, Rena Marie Raska Miller and Truman Miller; and brother, Jimmy Jack Raska. John graduated Jefferson High School in 1970. He worked as a mechanic for Goodyear in Marshall and served as a reserve police officer for Marshall Police Department. After working for a defense contractor and being assigned to the USNS Gordon in the Persian Gulf 3 years, he settled in Bossier City, Louisiana to be with grandchildren. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Clay Jones; grandchildren, Siera, Alaina, Alyssa, Jace Jones; niece, Meghan and family and nephew, Eric and family. Memorial Service will be 4 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.
