Benton

Jeffrey Glenn Peel was born January 18, 1953 in Henderson County, North Carolina.  Jeff went to his forever home on March 2, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  His loving wife of 37 years Linda was by his side.

A Celebration of Life service for Jeff will be 2:00 PM, March 10, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home.  His uncle Johnny Peel will be officiating.  Full military honors will be observed.

Jeff graduated from Pollock High School and joined the Air Force in 1971.  He proudly served his country as a jet engine mechanic for 23 years.  Each day he made sure that his aircraft was ready to fly to support missions.  Jeff retired after 23 years of meritorious service.  After leaving the Air Force, he again served another 17 years with the United States Postal Service.

Jeff had the ability to fix machinery and was known as an “Engineering Master Craftsman” or “The Handy Man.”  When not working on machines, he loved to hunt, fish and go on Sunday drives with his sweetheart.

Preceding Jeff in death are parents, Mary “Cathy” and Wilfred W. Peel; stepmother, Mary E. Peel; brother-in-law, Richard McRae; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Peel.  He leaves behind wife, Linda I. Peel; daughters, Summer Taylor, and Brandy Ragsdale; stepson, James G. Acres; eight grandchildren; brothers, Mark Peel, William “Billy” Peel and wife Fran; sisters, Rebecca Thibeaux and husband Greg, Shannon Harvey, Casceil McRae, Kathleen Hirchak and husband Donald; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Everyone that met Jeff, met a friend.   He loved his family, his country and will forever be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nina's Road to Rescue, or charity of choice. Jeff's service will be live-streamed.
