A memorial service for James Patrick Shows will be held at 2PM, on Saturday, March 24, at First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Pat was born in Ruston, Louisiana on June 7, 1942, and died in Shreveport on March 21, 2012. His mother, Thelma Harrison Shows, and father, George Melvin Shows, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Helen Fielder Shows, his son, Patrick Fielder Shows, and daughter, Hilaire Shows Williams and her husband, Michael Williams. Also surviving him are grandchildren, Alex Young Arnold, Chloey Marie Williams, Andrew Michael Williams, and Elliot Fielder Williams. Pat is also survived by his oldest brother, Donald Harrison Shows and family, and the family of his deceased brother, Melvin R. Shows.
Pat loved all sports, especially football and golf. He was an All-American football player at Ruston High School and continued to play for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and was inducted into ?Whose Who? in American Colleges and Universities.
Upon graduation, Pat entered the insurance industry and had a successful business career as an owner and producer for multiple insurance entities. His automobile warranty company was recognized as the number one volume company in the United States for C.N.A. National.
Pat never met a stranger and loved life to the fullest. He was a generous and kind father, grandfather and husband. We will miss him until we meet again.
Pallbearers will be Adam Barocio, Tommy Barrow, A.C. Black, Skip Cox, George Deacon, Pat DeRamus, Joe Glasglow, Jimmy Gosslee, Chuck Gray, Ronnie Hermes, Gary Riser, Paul Riser, Todd Shores, John Squires, Jimmy Stevens, and Bobby J. Wright.
