Shreveport, LA-Funeral services for Mr. James Ray Whittington will be held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at 1:30 pm. Officiating the service will be Bro. Gary Boswell of Westview Christian Church. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 6-8 PM. Mr. Whittington went to be with the Lord February 10, 2007, after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 3, 1925, in Shreveport. Mr. Whittington served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a dental technician both in the military and after his separation. Mr. Whittington served his Lord faithfully and was a charter member and Elder of Westview Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Billie Ruth Covington Whittington, parents: J.E. and Jennie Holm Whittington, grandson Jimmy Boyter, daughter-in-law Peggy Hauser, two brothers, and one sister. Surviving him are his children: Susann Boyter and husband Dub, Elbert Hauser, Dale Hauser; twin-sister Mattie Faye Prater and husband Merle Dean; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loved ones.
