James Phillip Mohrmann was a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend who passed away on June 18th, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana due to complications from the Covid-19 virus. He is pre-deceased by his parents Walter and Dorothy (LaFrance) Mohrmann and his brother Tony Mohrmann.
Jim was born in San Jose, California on November 24, 1942. After High School Graduation he served three years in the Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.
After returning home, he worked for the US Postal Service. He was a true “people’s person” and greatly enjoyed the many people he met on his various routes. Upon retirement, he volunteered with the American Red Cross responding to emergencies and once again connecting with and assisting his fellow Americans.
Jim is survived by his daughter, his sister Corinne Mohrmann, his brothers Bill and Ron Mohrmann, nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear companion Ellen Belote. He will be deeply missed. We will always remember him for his kind heart and love of service to others.
As was Jim’s wish, he returned home to California for his final resting place with his fellow veterans at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
