James K. Brown, II (Jim) passed away on August 24, 2006 following complications from lung cancer. Jim was born on November 7, 1956 at Lockbourne A.F.B. in Columbus, Ohio. Jim was a 1975 graduate of Parkway High School in Bossier City, La., attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and his Master's degree from the University of California at Bakersfield. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, working on a hospital ship during Desert Storm, and later serving three years on the U.S.S. Enterprise. At the time of his death, Jim was employed by the U.S. Civil Service as the Chief of Bio-Environmental and Engineering Services at Willow Grove Joint Reserve Base in Pennsylvania.
