Jaclyn Smith, long-time resident of Shreveport, died unexpectedly at the age of 58. She was a unique and special individual known for her kind, loving, sweet, and selfless soul.
She was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in 1967. She graduated from Prairie View Academy high school, class of 1985, in Bastrop, Louisiana. After high school she attended college for a law degree and ultimately became a labor and delivery nurse at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. After a work related injury that prohibited her continuing her career, she became a devoted stay at home mom. Jaclyn greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved pets.
Jaclyn is survived by her husband of 18 years, Quenten Smith; and her children Perry Caleb Gentry and Aimee Rose Gentry.
She is preceded in joining the Lord by her parents, Jack Ritchie Caldwell and Janet Rose Downey Haggard; and her brother Jack Ritchie Caldwell Gentry.
Although Jaclyn is gone, she will live in our hearts forever. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her family and no longer suffering.
