Herbert Cowart Jr.

February 12, 1947 — August 22, 2024

 Herbert Cowart Jr., 77, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 22, 2024 and is now embraced in the arms of Jesus.

Born on February 12,1947 in Baton Rouge, LA.

A proud graduate of Istrouma High School in 1965. Excelling in baseball where he made life long friends. After graduating he worked for IC Railroad for 40 yrs retiring in 2007.

Herbert loved the Lord. He was an active member of United Baptist Church in Campti, La. He loved his church family, they were always loving and supportive. His kindness, generosity, and loving spirit touched many lives.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Avis Wansley Cowart, and daughter Tina Compton.

Herbert is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sharon; sons Scott (JoAnne) and Brandon Cowart; daughter Vickie Serou; sisters Donna (Bob) Martin, Jennifer (Hal) Lusk and Abby Sharpe; grandchildren Ashley, Cody, Caleb, Bayli, Mark, Michael and Daniel. He leaves behind many dearly loved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Herbert’s legacy will live on through the memories of those who loved him.

Special thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches, Dr Billy Smith cardiologist in Ruston, LA at Green Clinic and all the nurses for excellent care. He loved them all.

 Memorial service will be held on September 7, 2024 at 11:00am located at United Baptist Church, 7687 Highway 9, Campti, Louisiana 71411

 Goodbyes are not forever
