Helmuth Lange

d. March 3, 2012

Shreveport, LA Helmuth C. Lange, 94, went to join our Lord on March 3, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA, on Tuesday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service. Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville. Helmuth was born on December 5, 1917, in Locksburg , Arkansas , and passed away peacefully at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 29 years of service and lived most of his life in this area. Restoring automobiles was one of his passions, and he was a member of the Classic Thunderbird Club. Also, Mr. Helmuth was an active member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport , LA , for 32 years. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dillard and Alton . Although Mr. Helmuth was married three times, he was preceded in death by each of these wives: Marion Martin, Gertrude Norris, and most recently Frances Jowell Lange on October 12, 2011. He leaves behind his brother Chester of Tyler, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Helmuth has collected some loving ?family? over the years though there are a few of us who knew him well. At times he could be a little obstinate, but we loved him where he was?isn?t that exactly how our Lord continues to love us? Among these people were his precious pastor/friend Randy Riley, the staff at Glenview Gardens Retirement Center , and Ms. Frances ? family. He will be missed by those of us who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, Precious Man! In lieu of flowers, love offerings can be sent in his memory to Trinity Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.
