Harold Eugene Dunman “Gene”, 83, of Bossier City, Louisiana, Passed away on June 20, 2021, at home with family by his side. Cause of death, Covid-19 complications.
Family visitation will be held at Airline Baptist Church on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am. Harrell Shelton will be officiating.
Gene was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on May 18, 1938. He attended high school in Columbus, Georgia.
Gene was married to Evelyn Phyllis Dunman on December 17, 1983; they were married 37 years. He was previously married to Mary Emma Schels Dunman.
Gene worked as a truck driver for J & M Tank Lines, Burnham Van Lines and Jack B. Kelly for many years. He drove a trolley at the Louisiana Boardwalk and loved greeting, talking and meeting new people. His last job was with PTI transporting railroad personnel to their respective job sites.
During his lifetime Gene was involved with Boy Scouts, Church Softball Coach and Lions Club in Cusseta, Georgia. He was a Deacon at Beulah Baptist Church and Barksdale Baptist Church. He was also a Sunday School teacher and had completed a course study in “Missions Christian Growth”. When possible, Gene was involved in Disaster Relief program helping others in need.
Gene is survived by spouse Phyllis Dunman, sister Rebecca Pennypacker, children; Mary Ann Overby, Robert Schels and spouse Marcia Schels, Ann Liesman and spouse Ben Liesman, Edward Weidner and spouse Sendy Weidner. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He had numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents ZT Dunman and spouse Annie Dunman. Siblings; Jim Dunman, Bill Dunman, Raymond Dunman, Edith May and Margret Louise Dunman.
