Gerald Lee Cooley

Gerald Lee Cooley left this life Monday, February 17, 2020, in Bossier City, LA. He was 80 years old. He was born in Polk, TN on October 14, 1939, to the late Paul W. and Janie L. Cooley.

Gerald graduated from Rives High School in 1957. He served in the Air Force from 1961-1983. He retired from civil service at Barksdale Air Force Base in 2006.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Ken and Bill Cooley. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Selma; sons, Tim (Anna), Jeremy (Jami) and Jeffrey (Tara); daughter, Kim (Joey); 12 grandchildren, Fallon, Savannah, Electra, Xylina, Katelyn, Joshua, Matthew, Michael, Jessica, Cayla, Jacob and Lily; great-grandchildren, Elle, Xynthia, Melayna, Kalyssa, Dillon, Austin, Dustin, Olivia and Mateo; two sisters, Polly Archie and Laura (Phil) Hidgon: and brothers, Bob (Vickie), Pete (Colleen), Joe (Mary) and Paul Gene; and many nephews and nieces.

Gerald will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Alex and Margaret Quinn for all their help and support during this difficult time. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
