George Harris

Graveside Funeral services with Military Honors for George Walton Harris, Jr., will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday June 16, 2012, at the Mount Zion Methodist Church, 1174 County Road 328, De Berry, TX. George passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the age of 87, after losing his final battle with pneumonia. George has been a resident of the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City, La., since 2008. His parents, George Walton Harris and Bonnie Adams Harris, a brother, Robert L. Harris preceded him in death. George is survived by his sister Joan H. Farrar, and his nine children, Steve Harris and wife, Tammy; David Harris; Cynthia Gaertner and husband Michael; Lisa Masters and husband Jeff; Kathleen Clark and husband Jeff; Paul Harris and wife Diane; Keith Harris; Marilyn McCrary and husband Mike; and Philip Harris, as well as 29 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Following the graveside service, a reception for family and friends will be held at the home of Kathleen and Jeff Clark beginning at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital.
