Ernest J. Jacks

Ernie Jacks gained his angel wings on April 1, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Ernie was born in Lake Charles, LA to Theron and Roberta Jacks and was the oldest of 4 children. He served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Navy living in Cuba, Spain, Florida and Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Timothy and Robert Jacks, nephew Donovan Geter and dear friend Crystal Wyatt. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Janet Jacks, Sister and Brother Debbie and Doug Ahyo, daughters Christina McKnight (Derwin), Brandi Jewell (Brandon), sons Jeremy Jacks (Jane), Robert Moss (Michael) and Jason Moss (Shannon). Numerous grand-children, great grand-children, nephews and nieces. Ernie lived life to the fullest and loved his family. He was the best Gramps to all that walked through the door. He never met a stranger and was one of the best Gumbo and Potato Soup chefs ever. He was the life of the party and always had a smile on his face. He loved gun and knife shows and had a story for each knife or gun he owned. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the AmVets. Ernie will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our memories will sustain us. A celebration of life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
