Elmer Shepherd

Shreveport, LA-Mr. Elmer D. "Toby" Shepherd, age 77, passed away on November 29, 2004, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Shepherd served on the USS Colisto and the USS Alabama. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he enlisted in the U.S.A.F. and retired after 20 years of service to his country. Upon separation from the military he was Director of Bio-Med maintenance at Overton Brooks Medical Center. During his life he devoted many years as a clown in the El Karubah Shrine Circus. He dearly loved to entertain the little children at the Shrine Circus. Mr. Shepherd was a member of Barksdale Baptist Church.
