Georgie Eleanor Cammack Boyd, "Miss Elli", Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away December 1, 2016 in Shreveport after a long illness. Born May 2, 1937, Beaumont, Texas, Miss Elli, graduated from Neville High School, Monroe Louisiana, then went on to study at LSU, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and subsequently Northeast, Monroe, Louisiana, where she met her beloved husband, Ronald Wayne Boyd. Wayne and Elli were married on May 31, 1959. Elli was an accomplished ballerina, artist and musician. She was one of the Founders of Ballet Lyrique, now known as The Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, Director of "Sing Out Shreveport", served on the board of directors and president of countless organizations in the community, including Kings Highway Christian Church, where she was also known as "the Church Mouse", Creswell Elementary, Stockwell Elementary, Cope Middle School and Airline High School. Most of all, Miss Elli loved life and loved to teach and share her talents with the children. For the past 18 years she was Mary Poppins to Christian and Madelyn Stewart. Elli is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Raymond Cammack and Florence Cammack. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, and two sons, David and Bruce, her brother Sam Cammack and his wife, Mari, her sister, Suzy Cammack Moritz-Rawdin and her husband, Scott Rawdin, nephews, Ray and Anthony Cammack, her nieces, Jennifer Thomas Hayler and Renda Blossman Simoneaux and all her great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Miss Elli will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Kings Highway Christian Church, 806 Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana. Those wishing to honor Miss Elli's memory may make donations to Kings Highway Christian Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Tharwat Ghattis and the entire staff of Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and loving care during her illness. One of her dearest friends wrote to Miss Elli on her last day: "God is going to give you beautiful days in heaven where you can run and dance and play with the children. It will be glorious and you will play the piano, sing and teach the bell choir. You'll decorate the sanctuary for Christmas with all your beautiful creations. You have been a good and faithful servant in whom He is well pleased. Until we meet again."
