Elaine Gumble Covington

Plain Dealing, LA- Mrs. Elaine Kathryn Gumble Covington, age 70, passed away at home, Friday October 10, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was born May 5, 1938 in Holly, PA, to Mary and Bernard Gumble. Mrs. Covington was a longtime resident of Plain Dealing. She loved being outside working in her garden, she also enjoyed writing poetry. But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Covington was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years; James Covington, Sr., three sons; James Covington, Jr., Joseph Covington, and Christopher Covington all of Plain Dealing, LA, one daughter Mary Kay Covington of Minden, LA, two granddaughters; Felicia Ann Childress and husband James Reese, and Michelle Covington Wood and husband Wilson Ron Wood Jr., three great-grandchildren; Amber Grace and Aiden Wilson Wood, and Karizma Elaine Childress, two brother-in-laws; Rupert Covington and wife Renate of Springhill, LA, Michael Covington and wife Brenda of Plain Dealing, LA, two sister in laws; Claudia Finley of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Barbara Covington of Mary Ester, FL, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Deere, Louisiana Home Care, and Southern Care Hospice, for all their loving care. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
