Donald Stanley

Donald Stanley was born May 17, 1932, in Sayre, Alabama. He graduated from Minor High School in Birmingham Alabama in 1950. He served in the Army National Guard for three years after graduation. He attended Howard College (Samford University), University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Northwestern University.

He spent 35 years working with Bell South/AT&T and retired as General Manager for Louisiana living in the Shreveport Area. He lived in Louisiana for 45 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Claudia Stanley; by his brothers, Bill, Larry, and Arthur Lee Stanley: by his sister, Doris Melbourne; and by his first wife, Mary Evelyn Jones Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Janelle Stanley of 25 years, his sister, Faye Byrd; his children, Chris, Keith, Doug, and Jennifer Stanley; and his two stepchildren, Bryan Pritchard and Kellie Henderson, and their spouses and children, and nieces and nephews.

His interment will be Friday, September 15, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Guests are welcome.

The family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
