Donald F. Baughman (Donnie) was received into heaven on January 13, 2014. Welcoming him into Glory were his parents, Charles Edward & Beatrice Callen Baughman and Brother, David Baughman. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Vicki Marcom Baughman; Daughter, Cassie Baughman Walton & Husband Jason; Son, Jeremy Baughman & wife Jamie; Rozalyn & Matthew Camarillo; 5 Grandchilden, Holden, Elijah, Gage, Arielle & Zachary; Brother, Dennis Baughman & Wife Kay of Monroe, La; Sister, Eileen Bryant of Bossier City and numerous nieces and nephews. Donnie attended Louisiana Tech after graduating from Woodlawn High School in 1966 and served in The Louisiana Army National Guard before beginning his 33 Year career with the Shreveport Fire Department, retiring as District Chief in 2001. He also worked for Christus Schumpert as a ground transport driver for 15 years. Donnie was an honorable and courageous man and lived his life in the service others. He was a true giver....loving Husband and Father....and took care of his family like no other. He provided an abundance of energy, laughter and love to all, and has a most beautiful soul. He will be deeply missed, and always loved. Much Love and appreciation go out to Kathy Morris, who cared for Donnie as if he were her own. Her strength and love has been unshakeable throughout time. Also the family would like thank the staff of Lifecare Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to us all in our time of need. Visitation will be from 5pm - 7pm Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 1204 Crabapple Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 11:00 AM, on Friday, January 17, 2014. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Chandler, Judge Bobby Waddell, John Loy, Charlie Knox, Steve Pinkley, Jimmy Beckwith. Honorary pallbearers will be beloved grandchildren, Ronnie Brown, Woodlawn Knight Football Team of 1966, all the many friends and co-workers he made during his service with the Shreveport Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
