Don Carroll Baker was born to T.L. and Jennie Lou Walker Baker on September 3, 1945, in Minden, LA. He gained his wings on September 23, 2024 after a difficult and hard fought battle against small cell cancer. Don is preceded in death by his father, T.L. Baker. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Patricia Attaway Baker, and sons, Graham Deforest Baker of San Antonio and Joshua Chase Baker of Las Vegas, NV. Also, Don leaves behind his mother, Jennie Lou Baker of Monroe, LA, a brother, Dayton Baker of Houston, TX and sisters, Dianne Morgan of Fate, TX and Dee Brandt of Monroe, LA.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ashok Kompelli, Dr. Kenneth Fitzgerald, Dr. Sri Sridhar Malireddy, Dr. Wang, Dr. Singh, as well as the nursing staff of 3 North Oncology at Willis Knighton Medical Center and Progressive Care Center. In particular, the family would like to thank Father Paul and Christine Martin, Renee McCuller, Senior VP of Willis Knighton Health System, Jill Pilinski, RN, Tabitha Robinson, RN, the WOC team at WK North, and therapists, Tony Henley, David McCalffey, Jodi Gillis, Keith Hedges, and Chris Lee. You all made the unbearable bearable.
