Delbert Dwayne Sowders

Delbert (Del) Dwayne Sowders, 89, of Shreveport, LA passed away on February 16, 2023 after a sudden illness.

Del was born in Wichita, KS on January 15, 1934.  He graduated from Wichita High School and continued on to receive a degree in Physics at TCU.

Del worked at the Boeing Company, Convair and General Dynamics as a draftsman for the Armament Team.  He worked on the B52, B58 and F111 program.  He sold sporting equipment for Evans Sporting Goods and taught at Grawood Christian School, Evangel Christian Academy and Calvary Baptist Academy.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, fishing, playing golf, feeding the birds and deer that visited his back yard and cooking. 

He was married to his wife, Hazel, on November 25, 1983.  They were married 39 years.

Del is survived by his wife, Hazel; son, Rick Sowders and wife, Delinda; daughters, Karen Sowders and Susan Sowders; grandchildren, Stephanie Evans, Christi Sowders, Suzanne Sowders; great-grandchildren, Trey, Avery, Hayes and Charlee and many nieces and nephews.

Del is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Bonnie Sowders, his brothers, Glenn Sowders Jr, Jack Sowders and Roger Sowders.
