Dan Edward Gilmore

Dan Edward Gilmore was born January 30, 1935 and departed this life peacefully on February 27, 2014, following a lengthy illness. He was a loving parent and found great peace when he was in the outdoors. He had a special place in his heart for all animals, especially for his cats. Dan proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He was born in Upshur County, Texas and lived in Bossier City. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and his grandparents. He is survived by his son, Randy, and his wife Gloria; and his daughter, Debbie. Dan also leaves behind three sisters, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous additional relatives. His family offers their thanks to Cypress Point Nursing Home and Harmony Life Hospice for the compassion and care shown to Dan. Honoring his request there will be no formal services held. His family will scatter his ashes in East Texas, near his former home.
