Dalys Judith Cordero passed away peacefully with her daughter Junnys by her bedside on Friday morning, June 7, 2024, after a courageous battle against stomach cancer. She was 65 years old. Dalys was born on June 22, 1958, in Panama City, Panama, to Dilsia Chacon and Cesar Zuniga of Chiriqui, Panama. In 1978, after completing one year of college, she gave birth to her daughter, Junnys Soto Acosta. Soon after, the family left Panama, and several assignments later, they arrived in Shreveport, LA, in 1994. The marriage dissolved, leaving Dalys to become head-of-household. In supporting her family, Dalys worked several jobs, from sales clerk, to waitressing, to cashier at the base commissary. She was also active in the local community, where she participated in fund raisers such as, The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, bake sales, food drives, fashion shows, and the local movie industry.
