Curtis Leael Wright

Curtis Leael Wright passed away on August 12, 2023, with his family by his side.  A memorial service to honor Curtis’ life will be held on August 19, 2023, between 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA.  Offering spiritual solace and prayers will be Pastor Reggie Parker – a long-time friend and coworker.

Curtis was born July 28, 1943, to Alice Wright McNeely and Ray Leael Wright who preceded him in death as did his son, Curtis Bryan Wright, and his sister, Patti Wright Buehler.  He is survived by his devoted daughter, Heather Wright, and son, Curtis Wright, Jr., and his furry best friend – Dolly.  He also leaves behind to grieve the loss are his two sisters – Sherri Nelson and husband, Michael, and Mary Wright; and brother, Russell Wright.  He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Kaya Walek, Kenneth Jones, Cory Johnson, Kristi Burks, and Christopher Wright.

He became a carpenter following in his father’s footsteps and grew to be a Master Carpenter and Craftsman.  He became well known for his expertise and ability to design and fashion amazing architectural details from wood and create fabulous custom-built homes.

He loved and was absolutely devoted to his children.  He was a good father and a much-loved brother and friend and will be sorely missed. 

Curtis was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Coast Guard.  He will be cremated according to his wishes and his ashes will be interred at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA later.
