Cortez Hardy

March 11, 1942 — October 19, 2023

Benton

Cortez Hardy was born to Elmer and Eva Hardy in Minden, LA.  Cortez gained his wings on October 19, 2023 at his home in Benton.  Private services will be held at a later date.

Before retiring Cortez worked 33 years for Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a Traffic Engineer.  Following his retirement, he loved fishing, playing pool, and taking care of his pets and all of the strays that found their way to his door.  However, his love was his dog Sophie.  Sophie could always be found in his lap enjoying the weather and daily naps.

Waiting in Heaven for Cortez are wife, Pauline Hardy; parents, Elmer and Eva Hardy; and brother, Neal Hardy.  Left to cherish many precious memories are daughters, Chasity Teer and husband James, and Ellen Creel and husband Bruce; grandchildren, Randy Stader, Emily Ware, Rachel Thomas, and Shelby Hedgepeth; great-grandchildren, Gavin Stader, Brendan Thomas, Everett Thomas, Brycen Hedgepeth, and Elijah Hedgepeth; siblings, twin sister Inez Sanders, Yvonne Duckworth, and Sandra Talley; numerous nieces and nephews; all of his four-legged buddies, and many other family members and friends.

Special thanks from the family to Brian Mitchell for all the care and consideration given to Cortez and all the laughs and daily conversations they shared.  Cortez touched many lives and his memory will live on for many generations.
