Clarence Denzil Holsapple, Jr.

Clarence Denzil Holsapple, Jr. (C.D.), 78, of Shreveport, La. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 25, 2022.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Clarence will be held at 1:00pm on September 10, 2022 at Boone Funeral Home at 2156 Airline Dr., Bossier City, La. 71111. Jeff Scott of Hand in Hand Hospice of Minden will be officiating.

Clarence was born in Vivian, La. on February 4, 1944 to Doris and Clarence Holsapple, Sr. He grew up in Gladewater, Tx where he graduated from Gladewater High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Clarence was married to Milbrey Kay Holsapple on May 12, 1967. They were married for 55 years.

Clarence worked as a Cytotechnologist for Schumpert Memorial Hospital for 22 years. He loved to read and learn and excelled in academics. If you had a question, he had an answer but be prepared to stay a while because his favorite pastime was talking. Although stricken with polio at the young age of six, he was able to have a prosperous life. He was blessed with five children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Clarence is survived by his wife Kay Holsapple, sister Dolores Gentsch, Children: Brandon Holsapple and wife Jennifer, Brian Holsapple, Bradley Holsapple and wife Melissa, Brent Holsapple and wife Amy, Krista Bird and husband Matt; Grandchildren: Austin, Katie, Sara, Cory and wife Kelsey, Braxton and Brayden Holsapple, Addison Smith, Devin and Kaitlyn Bird; Great-Grandchildren: Bentley Winters and Owen Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Clarence is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Holsapple, Sr., mother, Doris Holsapple, infant brother, John Holsapple; sister, Marilyn Odom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport, La. (El Karubah).

The family of Clarence Denzil Holspple, Jr. wish to thank the special staff and caregivers with Hand in Hand Hospice of Minden, Caddo Council of Aging and all of his amazing doctors, past and present, for their compassionate patient care over the years.
