Carl M. Schneider, III
Bossier City, LA ? Carl was born November 11, 1943 in Harrisburg, PA to Doris and Carl M. Schneider, Jr. and passed away peacefully on April 12, 2010 in Shreveport, LA.
He is survived by sons, Thomas E. Schneider of Bossier City, LA, and Eric S. Schneider of Sachse, TX; sister Judy Hudson and mother Doris Schneider of Edenton, NC.
Carl, 66, proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After his tour of duty he returned to the University of Georgia where he received a Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He received his MBA from the University of Maryland. Carl was also a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University and the Executive Management Roundtable of Harvard University. In later years he earned a Master?s in Applied Project Management from Villanova University.
Carl enjoyed over 35 years working in the financial industry, of note locally as COO of Barksdale Federal Credit Union in the early 1990?s. Earlier in his career, Carl served on the staff of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C. He also served as chairman and a professor at the ABA?s National School of Retail Banking; the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and was the chief industry consultant in the production and implementation of the ABA?s first internet course, Principles of Banking. Over his career, Carl published numerous textbooks, articles, industry white papers, and was a frequent public speaker.
