Shreveport, LA Memorial services for Bobbie J. Bass, 80 will be held Saturday, September 21st at 10:00 AM at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA with Brothers Chris Chenier and Randy Riley from Trinity Heights Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Bobbie was born on July, 20, 1933 in Dumas Arkansas to the parents of Garland and Gladys Thompson and went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2013. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 AM until the service time on Saturday. Upon graduation from Lakeside High School she enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951. She later went to LPN school and worked at the VA Hospital in Shreveport. She then enlisted in the US Army Reserve, and was later accepted into the Active Army and became an Army counselor at MEPS. To finish out her career she had 16 years in the civil service in Bossier City. She received numerous awards and was the secretary for 15 Commanders at Barksdale. Bobbie had over 42 years in the military. Once Bobbie retired from the military she enjoyed traveling, lounging by the pool, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norrell Thompson. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Terry Bass, sister, Norris Brown of Fountain Hill, Arkansas, children, Frank Halbur (Shelia), Pat Faulkinberry (Albert), Fred Halbur (Diana), grandchildren, Tiffany Morehead, Trichel Binderim, (Jay), Todd Faulkinberry, Amber Halbur (Johanthon)and two great grandchildren, Jayde and Jack.
