He was born September 16, 1936 in Saint Francisville, LA in West Feliciana Parish. He was of Episcopal faith. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and was stationed at U.S. Naval Training Center, San Diego, CA. In 1960, Audrey met his now wife, Sandy, who has always known him as (Stein). They married in Portsmouth, Virginia in December of 1962 and have been married for 61 years. Stein was friends of Sandy’s family in North Carolina and Virginia. Their life wasn’t easy, but they did what they had to do together. Their love and faith helped them overcome anything.
In 1967, he was a Medical Corpsman in the Vietnam War. He was in the Tet offensive. After the war, he was an instructor at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland.
Stein’s life was filled with love for family and friends. He was committed to excellence in all his duties. Stein went to many schools while in the service and was proud of his work. He had the most respect for the marines and fellow service friends. He retired after 20 years of loyal service. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for Shreveport Regional Laboratory for 26 years and then retired again in 2004.
Stein is survived by his wife, Sandra W. Aronstein of Shreveport, LA; his sons John M. Aronstein of Shreveport, William P. Aronstein of Baton Rouge, and Matthew S.
