Allen Darrell Halford

d. June 12, 2020

Allen Darrell Halford, 60, of Monterey, LA passed away on June 12, 2020.  He was born December 17, 1959 to Alma Jean and Julius Halford in Natchez, Mississippi.

Darrell was a kind hearted person who worried about others.  Even though he faced medical problems of his own, he always made sure everyone around was safe and happy.  He graduated from Carthage High School and Carthage Technical School.  Shortly after graduation he began working for Citi Service Oil and Gas Company.  After trying different careers, he ended up in the millwright industry, where he worked until he had to stop working due to cancer.   When not working he could be found enjoying God’s gift of the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by parents and brother Julius R. Halford, Jr.; brother-in-law,  Buddy Linzay.  He is survived by son, Richard Halford and wife Shannon of Atlanta, Texas; daughters, Tami Halford of Carbon, Texas; and Nicki Halford of Carbon, Texas; the mother of his children, Patti Garrison of Eastland, Texas; siblings, Bernice Poole and husband Ronald of Montery, Louisiana, Ouida Halford of Montery, Louisiana, Bruce Halford of Montery, LA ; sister-in-law, Judy Halford of Atlanta, Texas; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sissy Stroud of Ferriday, Louisiana.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Detective Craig LaCour of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Darrell left us much too soon due to a tragic incident.  His kindness and sweet personality will be remembered by all that had the honor and privilege of knowing him.  A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
