Alice Lurlene Irby

Alice L. Irby, 86, of Florence, Mississippi, passed away on August 20, 2024. She was born in Plain Dealing on July 28, 1938, to S.J. and Haddie (Huddleston) Furquoron.

She lived in Florence, Mississippi, for over 50 years. Alice was a homemaker and worked in retail at Sears before retiring at the age of 72. She raised nine children who she loved very much and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to sit outside on her porch, drink coffee, and watch the squirrels and birds. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She was survived by her children: Donnie Irby, David Irby, Chad Irby, Mary Rabalais, Pam Rochester, and Diane Sillman; sister Carol Trout; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Junior Irby; sister jeanette banks; children Sonny Irby, Sudie Landry, and Rose Elliot; and too many grandchildren for one family to lose.
