Zachariah Hume
Shreveport, LA Zachariah Hume, 31, passed away on August 20, 2012. A Funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 27, 2012 in the Sanctuary at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Officiating will be Rev. JoAnn Cooper. Interment will follow in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Zach was born on July 4th, 1981 in Palatka, FL to Richard and Gwen Hume. He was married to Kaycee Gilmore of Gorman, TX.
He graduated from Interlachen High School and joined the Air Force on January 8, 2002. He was assigned to Barksdale Air Force Base as a Contract Specialist. He completed multiple deployments overseas, the most recent one in in Salerno, Afghanistan where he received the Joint Service Commendation Medal. Zach enjoyed fishing, reading, playing darts and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Del Hume, paternal grandmother Shirley Hume and maternal grandparents Cecil and Hester White.
Zach is survived by his wife, Kaycee and step-children Abby and Thomas McClure of Shreveport, LA; his parents, Richard and Gwen Hume of Florahome, FL; his brother, Seth Hume of Orange Park, FL; his niece Madison; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Zach?s family requests that donations be made to any of the following organizations: Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude?s Hospital or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
