Waymon D. Geter

Waymon D. Geter, age 77, passed away on August 29, 2013. He was a member of First Baptist Bossier. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City. Funeral services will follow at 2 P.M. Interment at Hill Crest Memorial Park after the funeral service. Officiating will be Rev. John David Strahan and Rev. Robert Goetjen. Pallbearers will be Gary Geter, Ron Burrows, Sonny Knight, Brock Hicks, and Rean Van Ly. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Mayfield and Dean Mayfield. Mr. Geter was preceded in death by his parents, Angie & O.B. Geter; sister Loretta Strahan; and brother Othen Geter. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Betty Berry Geter; son Gary Geter; sister Gerthie Lewis; step-son Ted Lyons and; step-daughter Susan Barnhill & husband Garey; granddaughter Kate Hopkins & husband Rob; step-grandsons Joseph Barnhill, Logan Lyons; step-granddaughter Sara Lyons; great-grandson Asher Hopkins; great-granddaughter Margo Hopkins; mother-in-law Katie Berry; many nieces and nephews. Special appreciation to St. Joseph Hospice and all the staff of Cypress Point Nursing Home & Rehab. A special thank you to Joketa and Christie.
