Thomas Patrick Showalter

Thomas Patrick Showalter, 61, of Benton, Louisiana, passed peacefully at his home Friday March 29 surrounded by family. Tom was a native of Shreveport Louisiana, a graduate of Captain Shreve High School and Louisiana Tech University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Seen as larger than life by those who knew him best, he will be remembered forever as a good friend, faithful husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Tom battled stage-four cancer for six years and never lost his spirit, or determination. He will be deeply missed but will always live in our hearts and minds. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Hudnell Showalter, son Erik and daughter Olivia. Celebration of Life Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 315 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Reception will follow. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Willis Knighton Cancer Treatment Center staff for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, please give to the American Cancer Society or to Agape Hospice.
