Memorial Services for Mrs. Ruth Pinckley will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Highway 71 South in Bossier City, La, where Mrs. Pinckley was a member. Officiating will be Monsignor LaCaze and Father Ampatt. A gathering for friends and family will be Friday night from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Mrs. Pinckley passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 3:25 p.m. surrounded by her family. She was a native of Colfax, La, born January 16, 1931. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1947. She earned a B.S. from Northwestern University in Natchitoches and was the first person to earn a Master's Degree from Centenary College. Mrs. Pinckley was a mathematics teacher beginning her career at Waterproof High School in Tensas Parish at the age of 19. She then worked for Reservoir Engineer's of Gulf Oil Corporation in Shreveport. She accepted a teaching assignment at Bossier High School and remained there 10 years. She was initiated into Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Society in 1964. When Parkway High School opened she transferred and taught there for 10 years before becoming the Bossier Parish Math Coordinator, a position she held for nine years. She was a member of NCTM, LATM, past president 1984-1985. She was inducted into the Psi Psi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority at NSU. After retiring from public education, Mrs. Pinckley taught in the following private schools: Southern Technical College, Plain Dealing Academy, Riverdale Academy in Coushatta, Baptist Christian College, and Grawood Christian School. Survivors include; her husband of 55 years James Mark Pinckley, two sons; John M. Pinckley and wife Ava of Bossier City, Steven Pinckley and wife Pam of Marshall, TX, one loving sister, Ann Smith of Bossier City, seven grandchildren; Cory Pinckley and wife Britney, Justin Pinckley and wife Amanda, Trevor Pinckley, Mark Pinckley II, Kristeen Gregory, Vicky Pinckley, Lauren Gelpi, five great grandchildren; Katelyn Pinckley, who is God's precious gift to the Pinckley family and Brooklyn Cohen, Mallorie Pinckley, McKenzie Pinckley, Madison Brian, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pinckley lived life for others, making herself familiar with the angels, and she loved giving of herself to her family. Her family would like to thank Dr. Balogh and Dr. San Pedro as well as the nurses in ICU at Willis Knighton Bossier for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 7738 Barksdale Blvd., Bossier City, La 71112
