Robert George Gahn

d. September 19, 2016

Keithville - Bob was born April 22, 1931 to parents Jacob and Margaret Gahn in Queens, NY. He passed away peacefully on September 19, 2016 surrounded by family and loved ones. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Bob proudly served his country in the US Army, and had the honor of serving in the White House under the President Eisenhower. He was born and raised in New York, but working with Western Electric, he was transferred to Shreveport in 1965 and Northwest Louisiana became his home. Making the transition from a "Northern" to a "Southern" was a true test for him. It took the love of a good Southern lady to turn his heart to the South. After his retirement from Western Electric, he moved to the Hall Summit and enjoyed the country life with Gladys. He had the distinction of being a Mason at the Broadmoor Lodge. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret that passed away when he was an infant. Also preceding him is Jacob and Evelyn Gahn; and brothers, Bill and Richard Gahn. Also preceding him is the Southern Belle that turned him around was wife, Gladys. Gladys and Bob shared many wonderful years together. He is survived by daughter, Liz Antee; granddaughters, Christie and Taylor; and great-grandson, Liam Suter, who he affectionately named "Cookie Monster"; and sister-in-law, Virginia Walker of Florida. He is also survived by his special companion Alma Barker of Keithville. The family would like to express their appreciation and love to Gladys' children for their support and love at this time. Bob lived life his way. He was proud of his family, his country, and his accomplishments. He will truly be missed by everyone that had the privilege of being part of his life.
